Illusion with central change

  • Keep your eyes fixated on the centre of the screen for a good amount of time (tens of seconds to minutes). 



 
In this example, you can first experience the uniformity illusion for orientation. After sixty sexonds, the orientation of the central patch changes. What happens to your experience of the periphery? Does it change back to its real orientation, or does it shift with the central patch?
